Hola from Mexico!

The best vacation ever is all I have to say. We were lucky enough to go to Rivera Maya, Mexico for a week, March 7-14. My mom was gracious enough to pay for our whole family to go on this wonderful trip. We cannot thank her enough. Thank you mom! We met my parents at the airport in Denver for the flight to Cancun. It was nice to have them on the flight to help entertain Hudson. The flight was pretty uneventful. Hudson did well and even took a little nap. We arrived in Cancun and the weather was great. A little humid, but a nice breeze and probably in the 70s. We found our shuttle and some how they got all my suitcases in the back. I was very thankful. I wouldn't have wanted to leave one of my many swimsuits at the airport. :) Oh I forgot. We were very thankful Hudson was with us, because the line for passport checks was over an hour long. We got to go to a special line and were done in about 10min. Thank you Hudson! The ride to our resort was about an hour long. You couldn't see much because of all the trees. We had a Corona on the way to the hotel which tasted pretty good and I don't drink much. We were staying at the Barcelo Resorts. The resorts consists of 5 different hotels raging from budget to a five star. We were suppose to be staying in one of the middle range hotels, Barcelo Tropical/Colonial. When we pulled up to the hotel the bell hop says you have been upgraded to the Palace. No reason given. We weren't complaining at all. I was smacking Pete's arm saying the Palace. Heck yeah!!!! We pulled up to the Palace and it was just that a Palace. It was beautiful. It was getting dark, but we could still see the hotel. In the lobby waiting for us was Noel. He had a drink and book in hand. We got checked in and proceeded straight to dinner. The buffet was huge and had many choices. We were all very excited, but exhausted from a long day of travel. So we walked around a bit and then went to our room. It was awesome. It had 2 beds, 2 couches, balcony, 2 sinks, 2 showers, mini fridge, bathrobes and slippers. It was nice to say the least. The couches worked out well for Hudson to sleep on. We set up his bed and we all crashed. We were excited for the days to come.
Stay tuned for more posts and pictures on our trip. Pete took a ton of pictures.
Our first night in Mexico.

Even bigger now!

February was a big month for Hudson. He got a big boy bed. Our neighbor had given us a headboard, so we just needed the mattress we thought. We got just the mattress thinking we didn't need a box spring. Well we were wrong. It was a mistakes that cost us some extra money, but what do you do. We haven't had any problems transitioning to a regular bed. I don't have a picture of it here, but he kind of has a surf theme going. We got a surf themed comforters and surf board on his headboard. It matches the paint scheme pretty well.
Is this what I get to sleep on now?
See the Thomas the train sheets. He had to have them, but somehow they have mysteriously disappeared.

I love my new bed.

My Birthday Cake!

I know it's a bit late, but I wanted to give props to my awesome husband for the best birthday cake. He made me a peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake with Godiva peanut butter chocolates inside. I think it is best cheesecake he is ever made and he has made some really good ones. Thanks honey.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

It was as good as it looks.

Wheee!!!

On our last day in Mexico Pete and I got to go to Tulum Extreme Over the Edge. Our half day adventure included snorkeling, repelling and doing a zip line. My parents were nice enough to watch Hudson while Pete and I were gone. We really appreciated that. We started off snorkeling in a cenote(underwater cave). It was beautiful, but for me not so enjoyable. I had never snorkeled before, so snorkeling in tight dark cave wasn't probably the best idea. I never relaxed enough to enjoy the beauty around me. Pete really enjoyed himself. After the snorkeling we were off to repel. We climbed a ton of stairs to get to the top. It was pretty windy up there. I was scared standing up there waiting for my turn to go. Our guide Israel hooked me up and I was ready to go. I was crazy scared the first initial sitting back. Trusting the ropes were going to hold me. Once I made it past that point it was awesome. I wanted to repel faster, but our guide had control. Bummer!!! Pete said he wasn't scared and enjoyed it. After repelling we were off to zip line. More stairs to climb, but well worth it. We got to do 2600ft of zip line. We started at one tower and went on to 2 others. Each tower being a little higher and the zip line a bit longer. It was awesome. After the zip line we got to eat a yummy lunch. We had a great time and are so glad we went.

I'm a big kid now!

Hudson's first haircut was February 13, 2009. We went to the Jack and Jill Kids Salon. They did a good job. We got a little certificate and a lock of his hair. He didn't cry. He was pretty quiet the whole time she was cutting. He got a little leery when she came out with clippers though. I wasn't sure about getting it cut, but I'm glad we did. I don't know how it's possible, he looks even cuter. :)
I want to get my haircut in the cool fire truck.

This is the best shot we got of his before hair.
All smiles.
You can see my ears again.
Man I look good.
All done. Looking pretty handsome.
